About
Thank you for stopping by my website -- my own little window on the internet where you can catch glimpses of my playing, writing, and upcoming projects. I am infinitely more comfortable behind my instrument than I am advertising my “laurels,” but this is the “About Me” section which, as tempted as I am to leave blank, I will not.
I began piano lessons at the age of four in my hometown of Madison, Wisconsin, continued my high school studies at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, and moved to New York City in 2013 to study with Pavlina Dokovska at Mannes College the New School for Music, where I completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Piano Performance with a full-tuition merit scholarship. My training, coupled with the benevolence of others and a lot of good luck, have allowed me to concertize in Europe, Asia, and throughout the United States. While I fill my diet with a wide range of repertoire, I get the most pleasure out of playing music written between the early twentieth century and the present day -- a musical landscape that, for me, transcends the mundane and rises to the ethereal. Currently, I am spending the 2024-2025 season in Paris as a musician-in-residence at the Fondation des États-Unis, generously funded by the Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship program. My residency focuses on the study and performance of music written from 1900-present with a concentration on French repertoire. I under the mentorship of pianist Suzana Bartal.
As for writing… Well, I’ve got a lot on my mind.
Aside from music and writing, I enjoy reading, making clothes, daydreaming, going on grand hiking adventures, and playing with my guinea pig.
Information regarding my education, performance and professional experience, and honors and awards is detailed in my resume, which you can find below.
